GM Will Expand Vehicle Recall to 1.4 Million Cars and SUVs General Motors announced that it would expand its February vehicle recall to nearly 1.4 million cars. The initial vehicle recall was for only 778,000 cars and covered specifically older models of GM Chevys and Pontiacs. GM said that the ignition switch problem was due to the switches not being tightened properly.
