Novaritis, Maker of Excedrin, Issues Voluntary Recall

It is time to take another look in your drug cabinet due to a recall. Novartis, the makers of Excedrin, NoDoz, Bufferin and Gas-X a issued a recall on Sunday due to concerns that stray pills from other medicines and chipped or broken tablets could be contained in your bottle.

voluntarily recalled their products after an internal review noticed inconsistent bottle packaging and some bottles containing broken or chipped pills. With the safety of its consumers in mind, Novartis decided to take the medicine off the shelf in fear of someone taking a medicine they had an allergy to or a negative reaction with other medications. There have been no reports of any such reaction from consumers as of yet.

 

Novartis Drugs Subject to Recall

The popular headache medicine Excedrin and caffeine tablets NoDoz with expiration dates of Dec. 20, 2014 or earlier are subject to this recall.

The popular gas reliever, Gas-X, and pain medicine, Bufferin, with expiration dates of Dec. 20, 2013 and earlier are subject to this recall.

If you think your medicine may be affected, throw it out. If you have any questions regarding the recall you can contact Novartis at 1-888-477-2403 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST Monday through Friday. Novartis also said they would have more information regarding the recall and refunding your money available on their website, www.novartisOTC.com on Monday.
