According to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, Bay Valley Foods, LLC, has recalled approximately 188,181 pounds of Reduced Sodium Chicken Noodle Soup sold in 10.5 oz cans and labeled “GREAT VALUE REDUCED SODIUM CHICKEN NOODLE CONDENSED SOUP”.
While the product label indicates that the can contains Chicken Noodle Soup, the affected cans may also contain Cream of Chicken Soup and therefore milk, a known allergen which is not otherwise disclosed on the packaging.
The Great Value Chicken Soup cans subject to recall will bear the the USDA mark of inspection on the label, the establishment number “P-51,” and a best-by date of “09 29 12” ink-jetted on the bottom of each can. The product was sold nationwide.
