Doe, 34, was visiting the Roes’ house when she was attacked by their dog. She suffered a bite wound around the right corner of her lip. The injury left her with scarring, nerve damage, and shallow bites on one her of hands.
She still has problems with impaired speech and drooling. She also suffered from as a result of the attack.
Her medical expenses totaled $14,200. Her future medical expenses are estimated at $21,800. Doe had a job as an administrative assistant at a university at the time of the incident. She incurred approximately $1,100 in lost income.
Doe sued the Roes, claiming they were strictly liable under the state’s dog bite statute.
