Bayer's Damage Control for Yaz

One of the most popular oral contraception pills in the U.S. market is Yaz, with reported sales of $616 million in 2007 alone. The active ingredients of the drug is estrogen and progestin and is considered a low dose pill as it contains only 0.035 milligrams or less of estrogen. The drug received FDA approval in March 2006 primarily as an oral contraceptive and then in March 2009 as a treatment for premenstrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD.
